Why the Water Bear as the logo for this website? The humble water bear is the symbol of endurance, and survival. Found in every environment on earth, and even found on the moon, it can withstand greater extremes of heat and cold, moisture, dehydration, and vacuum, than any other creature other than bacteria, viruses, and germs.
All forms of herpes are excruciating conditions, because their genetic material is too large to fit in the envelope of their protein cell walls: their cells are under extreme pressure. Contagious, embarrassing, stygmatized, despite dozens of studies over multiple decades, all we have are treatments, no cure.
Like the water bear, all we can do is endure, and survive to the best of our ability.
